Gorse Fires
From September until February 28th farmers are allowed to burn on their land. They set fire mostly to gorse bushes, which make for spectacular fires, especially at night. In 2013 there was a long period of rain, meaning the farmers could not burn. Then at the end of February dry weather finally arrived and the farmers set about burning their fields, to get it done before March 1st. Many of the fires got out of control. Here are my best shots
